What is Franchise Football?
 |
This
is an
NFL Franchise theme game where you will take control over various aspects of the development of your
Franchise, on both sides of
the ball. It
includes several advanced features, that are targeted for the serious
Fantasy Football audience. |

Now
includes a basic IDP system. |
Budget
& Contract Features
 |
Manage
all Franchise funds: Start with $50,000,000 and
invest it in player & coach salaries, extended contracts, and
hire Free Agents. |
 |
A
typical budget is $20M for player salaries, $2M for coaches, $10M for weekly Free Agents,
and $18M for auction signing bonus. |
 |
Attract
Free Agents to your team by offering them a higher signing bonus than your opponents.
A players base salary is $400,000 minimum.

 |
Extend
contracts to retain your current players from one year to the next.
Keep up to 8 players: designate a Franchise player for both offense and
defense, keep a Franchise coach, extend one rookie for a 2nd year,
and you also have two 2 year contracts and two 3 years contracts
for other players. |

your weekly starting roster to field the best possible team
in Head to Head matches.

Pick
rookies in a 2 round draft to build your franchise for the future.

Roster Details :
 |
Starting Roster Each
Week:
1 Coach, 1 QB, 2 RB's, 3 WR's, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DL (DE or
DT), 1 LB, 1 DB (CB or S), & 1 Flex D (DE, DT, LB, CS or S). |
 |
Roster Size: 25
active roster slots; includes 2 coaches, 21 offensive and
defensive players, plus 2
rookie positions.

 |
Injured Reserve:
1 extra roster slot for an injured player.
|
 |
Keep one Franchise
offensive player indefinitely for $5,000,000 per year, one
Franchise defensive player for $1,500,000 per year, and one Franchise head coach
for $1,500,000 per year. |
 |
Each Franchise
can keep an additional 5 players under various 2 or
3 year contracts. |
 |
Keep
1 rookie that you had on your roster the previous year to a 2nd year
Rookie contract for $750,000. |
 |
Sign 2 players to a 2 year contract for $1,000,000/ year.

 |
Sign 2 players
to a 3 year contract for $2,000,000/ year. |
 |
Draft 2 rookies
and sign them in a rookie contract for only $250,000 for
the first year.

Auction
Draft: Free Agents will sign with the Franchise offering
them the highest signing bonus.

Note: For first year leagues, all players, (except rookies),
are available as Free Agents.

Rookie
Draft: 2 rounds, order is based on the previous years standings.

Note: For first year leagues, it will be a
serpentine draft with a random draft position.
 |
Weekly Free Agents: Blind
bid auction
for weekly Free Agents. |

7/25/10:
One more orphan team in Landry. Our new Bill Parcells League has
been filled.
6/9/10:
Kicking off the 2010 season. We are starting a new $125 league, and check the Orphan page for available teams. 5/1/10:
Adding a Flex Defensive player based on league votes.
8/2/09:
Our leagues are all filled for this year. Register if you want to
be on our mailing list for next year. 7/13/09:
Bart Starr League is filled.
7/1/09: New
Bart Starr League was added.
1/22/09:
Added a basic IDP system, added 5 roster spots, added a 2nd year Rookie
contract, and clarified several rules.
11/15/08: League Hall of Fame page added.
10/26/08:
The leagues voted to add a 2nd year rookie contract for $750,000. This
improves the overall value of rookies.
9/01/08: Leagues
are currently all filled.
8/01/08: The first Premium Contract League has
begun drafting. The Mike Ditka League is officially our inaugural
league.
7/8/08: To allow for
additional bidding funds , yearly Franchise budget was increased from
$35M to $50M, and player base salary was decreased to $400,000.
6/30/08: Added 10% discount
for all returning owners.
4/20/08: A few clarifications to
the rules were made.
3/31/08: Rules were implemented at our league site on MFL, and
links added to navigate between the two sites.
3/02/08: Updated graphics and added ESPN News and NFL draft
widgets.
2/9/08: E-mail server changed to
improve service. Joined Google and Yahoo advertising programs.
1/26/08: Added the PayPal 'Buy Now'
security system to order a Franchise.
1/18/08: Site was moved from Charter to
Dot5Hosting, allowing us to go public.
